AFGA Calendar

January -- Pruning, planning, order seeds and supplies, apply compost tea

February -- Pruning, planning, order seeds and supplies, apply compost tea, start a garden record book, or calendar of what you have done and what you need to do.

March - pruning, planning, order seeds and supplies, start seeds indoors, apply compost tea, aereate the mulch and reapply if necessary.

April - prep soil for planting of early crops, and certain cool weather crops (kale, collards, etc.), apply compost tea with nutrients
--Stake up tomatoes, install vine trellises

May - by midmonth 1st plantings should be complete, for successional crops: Example; Radishes may be planted every 15 to 20 days
--Stake up tomatoes, start observations for seed select

June - weed, till, mulch as needed, harvest when ready, lettuce, spinach, and these crops should be plentiful, apply compost tea

July - select plants to save seeds, harvest, enjoy the bounty, can and preserve, or freeze. Apply compost tea as needed

August - save seed, pull weeds, cultivate, apply compost tea

September - pick something, get ready for something, do something. This will be according to your planting schedule.

October - close out summer garden, and prepare for fall garden apply compost tea with extra nutrients for fall crops, apply extra mulch at this time. (grass clipping, hay or ground up straw, etc.)

November - Happy Thanksgiving. Be thankful that you still have fresh tomatoes from your garden, and are still harvesting greens. Spinach, Kale, Collards, Lettuce, and Broccoli

December - Merry Christmas pick some greens for the holiday and we will all see each other next year.
